How Plants Benefit Your Property

Plants provide valuable benefits to a property. As plant experts, we are always mindful of these benefits when we trim, prune, or even remove a plant from the landscape. By keeping the intents of the plant material and being mindful of how it will be affected by our hand, we become more judicious.

Privacy

Trees offer a valuable privacy screen, whether they cover a see-through fence, open property line, or act as a shield from the view of others on higher ground. Many pool owners add trees for this very reason. They can also hide undesirable elements which may be within view of a property which the homeowner doesn’t wish to see. They do so without the formality or expense of a wall and are a valuable shield for other issues, as well.

Block noise, pollution, and dust

Shrubs filter noise and dust and taller shrubs and trees can be planted as a windbreak in areas where the wind is problematic. Freeway noise, industrial noise, and other sounds can be tamped down by shrubs and trees. Even the noise from a neighbor mowing their lawn can be muffled by thousands of lovely leaves.

Beauty and value

There is no wall, fence, break or barrier which offers more beauty than a natural plant screen. They add value to a property, as well, giving it a solid, established look which buyers love. Imagine intending to purchase a property for your family. Will you choose a home with a lush, mature landscape, or one which is bare or has a few plants? The answer is almost always the property with an established landscape.

Erosion protection

Plants are a larger form of protection against erosion in areas where water tends to move. A well-established lawn root system will protect the soil and land from flood situations. In areas where plants have been eliminated, flooding and decimation of the soil can be catastrophic.

Encourage wildlife

We share our tiny planet with bees, birds, butterflies, and other creatures who will happily integrate into our domain if they feel comfortable. Landscaping provides an abundance of offerings to wildlife, including shade, flowers, moisture, and a habitat for living and producing offspring. With regular mowing and judicious pruning, the more unpleasant vermin can be discouraged while offering refuge to the more desirable ones.

Increase Oxygen

One of the benefits of plants that they convert carbon dioxide to oxygen, thus offering fresh air to the property’s inhabitants. Plants have a slight cooling effect, as well, because transpiration emits a tiny quantity of moisture into the air. Between seven and eight trees or twelve large shrubs will provide for the oxygen requirements of one person per year,
